SAND AND SURF SOCCER CLUB JOINS CITY SC AS OFFICIAL AFFILIATE CLUB.

Carlsbad, CA – May 9, 2025 – City SC is proud to welcome Sand and Surf Soccer Club as the newest member of its growing national network of elite youth soccer organizations. The Manhattan Beach-based club will immediately become an official City SC affiliate, deepening its access to player development resources, coaching education, and a broader competitive network. While Sand and Surf Soccer will retain its current name and brand for the 2025–26 season, it will transition to full City SC branding ahead of the 2026–27 season.

Founded on shared values of community, integrity, and player-first development, the partnership strengthens both organizations’ missions to elevate youth soccer while maintaining strong local roots.

“At Sand & Surf Soccer Club, we see our players and families as the heart of everything we do,” said Matt Abraham, Club Director. “Our partnership with City SC strengthens not just our soccer development, but our entire community — creating lasting relationships, supporting family values, and providing even more opportunities for our players to grow both on and off the field. We are excited for the future and proud to continue building a club where everyone feels supported and valued. This partnership signals the beginning of a bold new chapter for youth soccer in the South Bay—uniting community, ambition, and opportunity under one shared vision for the future.”

Josh Jirbandey, Assistant Director, added, “I’m thrilled to announce our partnership with City SC — a move that marks real progress for our club. This collaboration strengthens the player pathway by expanding opportunities for development, competition, and growth at every level. It’s an important step toward a future where our players, families, and coaches can thrive and reach the highest levels of youth soccer, all while maintaining the exceptional environment our club is known for.”

“We look forward to a successful strategic alliance with City SC,” said Sean Gauss, Club President. “Both organizations share the same core values — a strong sense of community and a focus on holistic player development through skilled training, supportive teamwork, and emphasizing the importance of character.”

Steve Cowell, CEO of City Sports Group, commented, “We’re thrilled to welcome Sand and Surf Soccer Club to the City SC family. This is a big, respected club with a strong track record of player development and community engagement. What makes this partnership so exciting is how clearly our values align—prioritizing the player experience, investing in coaches, and staying deeply connected to local families. Two great organizations are coming together here, and we can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish side by side.”

This collaboration highlights City SC’s continued expansion into key regions across California and beyond, bringing its mission of long-term player development, elite coaching standards, and community connection to more families than ever before.
